ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MATEMATIKA MATERI STATISTIKA BERDASARKAN TEORI KASTOLAN
Abstract
This study aims to identify the types and causes of students' errors in solving mathematics problems on statistics material based on Kastolan's theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with the research subjects being three students from class XI-MP2 at SMK PGRI 2 Sidoarjo who made the most errors. The instruments used were written tests and interview guidelines. The results of the study show that all three students made three types of errors according to Kastolan: conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. Conceptual errors were caused by a lack of understanding of the material, choosing the wrong formulas, and incorrect application of formulas. Procedural errors were due to misunderstanding the questions, not writing down the steps correctly, and lack of practice. Technical errors occurred because of carelessness, rushing, and failure to recheck answers. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers and students to minimize errors in mathematics learning.
