Correction

Corrections and Retractions

DINASIF is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Published articles are considered final and are not altered silently. Any change to a published article is made transparently through the following mechanisms, in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1Correction

A correction is published when an article contains an error that does not affect its main conclusions, such as errors in author names or affiliations, errors in tables or figures, or typographical errors that alter meaning. Corrections may be requested by the authors or initiated by the editors.

  • A correction notice is published in the next available issue, assigned its own DOI, and linked to the original article.
  • The corrected version of the article is uploaded with a note stating the date and nature of the correction, and the previous version remains available.
  • Minor errors that do not affect meaning, such as typos, do not require a correction notice and are handled at the editors’ discretion.

2Expression of Concern

An expression of concern is published when there is strong evidence of a serious problem with an article but the evidence is insufficient for retraction, or an investigation is ongoing. It may later be updated to a correction or retraction depending on the outcome.

3Retraction

An article will be retracted if it is found to:

  • contain serious errors that make its findings and conclusions unreliable, whether due to honest error or research misconduct such as fabrication or falsification;
  • be the result of plagiarism;
  • have been previously published elsewhere (duplicate publication);
  • use data or materials without authorization;
  • violate research ethics;
  • have been published through a manipulated peer review process.

Retraction may be requested by the authors or decided by the Editor-in-Chief following an assessment in accordance with the Research Misconduct page. The following provisions apply:

  • A retraction notice is published with its own DOI, stating the article title and authors, the reason for retraction, and who initiated it, and is linked to the original article.
  • Retracted articles are not removed from the website. They remain accessible, with a “RETRACTED” watermark on every page of the PDF and on the article page.
  • The article’s metadata in Crossref and other indexes is updated to reflect its retracted status.

4Removal

The content of an article is removed only in very limited circumstances, namely when it is unlawful, defamatory, infringes the rights of others, or poses a serious risk if it remains available. In such cases, the article’s metadata (title and authors) remains displayed with a note that the article has been removed for legal reasons.

Withdrawal Before Publication

The withdrawal of manuscripts that have not yet been published is governed by the Submission Withdrawal page.
