IMPLEMENTATION OF THE READ, POINT, LISTEN AND PARENTAL SUPERVISION METHOD TO IMPROVE THE QUR'AN READING SKILLS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
PENERAPAN METODE BACA, TUNJUK, SIMAK DAN PENDAMPINGAN ORANG TUA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA AL-QUR’AN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR
Abstract
This classroom action research aimed to improve Qur’an reading skills through the “read, point, listen” method combined with parental assistance among fifth-grade students at SDIT Insan Kamil Sidoarjo. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in both student activity and learning outcomes. The average student learning activity score during the pre-cycle was below 3.00 (categorized as low). In Cycle I, the average score increased to 3.00 (moderate), and in Cycle II, it rose to 4.00 (good). Regarding learning outcomes, in the pre-cycle, only 2 students (9.5%) met the mastery criteria, while 19 students (90.5%) did not, with an average score of 73.5. In Cycle I, mastery improved significantly, with 19 students (90.5%) achieving mastery and an average score of 74. In Cycle II, all students (100%) achieved mastery with an increased average score of 81.These findings indicate that the “read, point, listen” method, combined with parental support, is effective in improving Qur’an reading skills, student engagement, and academic achievement among fifth-grade students at SDIT Insan Kamil Sidoarjo
