Smart Teaching in the Digital Era: Generative AI Training for Elementary School Teachers in SD Negeri 2 Sentolo
Abstract
This study explores a community-based professional development initiative aimed at enhancing elementary school teachers’ pedagogical use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through a Community of Practice approach, teachers participated in a short, practice-oriented training focused on integrating Generative AI to support lesson planning, learning material development, and creative instructional design. Qualitative data from observations, discussions, and reflective activities indicate increased digital literacy, improved confidence in using AI as a pedagogical tool, and strengthened collaborative learning culture among teachers. The findings highlight the potential of community-based training to bridge the gap between emerging educational technologies and classroom practice in elementary education.
