Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the Society 5.0 era demands innovation in teaching methods and media within the school environment. This Community Service (PkM) was conducted at SMP 10 November with the main objective of improving the digital pedagogical competence of educators through the utilization of the Google Sites platform as an interactive learning medium. Initial observations indicated that the majority of teachers still rely on conventional media and one-way communication due to constraints in technical web programming skills. Therefore, this training was specifically designed to address these issues by employing a no-code development approach, combined with the introduction of basic principles of Information Architecture and User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX). This ensures that the resulting media is not only functional but also possesses good visual hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and is user-friendly for middle school students. The implementation method included three comprehensive stages: (1) the preparation stage, involving field observation and module design; (2) the execution stage, consisting of the presentation of basic UI/UX concepts and a hands-on website creation workshop; and (3) the evaluation stage, measuring the improvement in understanding and assessing the generated prototypes. The results of this community service activity showed a significant 82% increase in teachers' understanding of digital media creation concepts. Furthermore, all participants, divided into several groups, successfully designed and published web-based learning media prototypes that are structured, interactive, and ready to be directly implemented in classroom teaching and learning activities.
